The record

Every round we publish, graded against the sharp close and the result. Bad rounds stay in.

How to read this

CLV: how far the close moved, from the market when we published, toward our line. We said −5.5, the market −6.0, the close −5.0: CLV +1.0. On the money line, in points of win chance.

Nearer the close: how often our line was closer to the close than the market's was.

Calls: where our line differed from the market's, the side of the market's line that our number favours. We said −5.5, the market −6.0: our call is the away side +6.0. Right, wrong or push on the result; where we agreed, no call.

Nearer the result: whose line was closer to what happened, ours or the market's (the final margin for the handicap, the points scored for the total).

The close is Pinnacle's last price before tip-off, or the European books' consensus where Pinnacle has none (The Odds API).
